25% MORE SALES AGREED IN MARCH THAN THIS TIME LAST YEAR
The Edinburgh residential sales market is hotting up as we move into the thick of the Spring market with plenty of positive signs for sellers and buyers considering making their next move.
The number of monthly sales agreed on Rightmove in Edinburgh and the Lothians has risen to its highest monthly level in over 3 years; 25% higher than 2023 and 45% higher than in 2022. Sales in 2022 were restricted by a lack of stock on the market while early 2023 sales were decimated by spiraling mortgage rates. However, in 2024 the market conditions are much more favourable with a high volume of buyers back in the market
As we reported last month, the market is functioning better than it has for several years. There is plenty of choice on the market for buyers to consider, while a strong level of monthly sales agreed over recent months should give sellers confidence that their property will sell this Spring.
