To the Umega Class of 2015:

It’s that time of year again when you, our students, who have been living in our rental properties for the last year (or years), pack up and move out in to the big bad world. It’s true that some of you will be coming back next year and some will be moving in to new properties with us as “professional tenants”, but for many of you, it’s time to get cracking with the rest of your lives. It’s an emotional time in the Umega office as we say goodbye to those of you that have depended on us for the last 12 months or longer. As  favourite student Letting agent Edinburgh’s, we’ve been through a lot together. For most of you, living in a student flat was your first time living away from home and in a new city. We’ve been there for you every step of the way. We’ve helped explain; how to change a light bulb, what a standing order is, what council tax is and why they don’t have to pay it, what an HMO inspection is and how to change a hoover bag (ok, this one didn’t happen that often).

In summary, it’s been emotional and we’ve watched you go from clueless Mummy’s boys (and girls) to independent young adults that we are proud to have called our own. So, to the Umega class of 2015/16, good luck and we wish you well! We will miss your visits to the office and you leave some big shoes to fill for the class of 2016. We hope you too feel that you are graduating as well rounded and responsible tenants for the next properties you move into.

Choose carefully with your next letting agent or landlord. Look for things like ARLA accredited agents and make sure your deposit is correctly lodged in a Tenancy Deposit Scheme. If you do find yourself in a situation further down the line where you need some advice about a rental property, you can still call on us for advice.

So good luck, live well, do us proud and keep in touch. We will miss you.
