Umega has been ARLA (Association of Residential Letting Agents) Propertymark protected as a letting agency for around 10 years and with our expansions into property sales this year, we have extended our voluntary regulation to the highest industry standards by becoming members of NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) Propertymark.



What’s in it for our customers

By displaying the propertymark protected logo, we provide better protection for our clients in a similar way ABTA travel agents protect holidaymakers. Our customers can be safe in the knowledge that when dealing with Umega to sell their home, they’re dealing with an agent that is held to the highest standards and that is qualified, voluntarily regulated and covered to sell their property and deal with buyers. We’re also members of The Property Ombudsman which offers a free, impartial redress scheme to help resolve any disputes that occur between us and our customers. By registering with TPO Scotland, this means we work in line with their strict code of practice.

What it means to be a NAEA Propertymark member

Propertymark is the main professional body for letting agents and estate agents, regulating member agents activities according to a strict code of conduct and rules set higher than the law requires. Propertymark also provides recognised qualifications for member firms to make sure their employees have a decent depth of knowledge of all aspects relating to property sales. NAEA is the estate agency member side of Propertymark and sits alongside ARLA which covers the activities of letting agents. Both sides combine to ensure customers don’t suffer through dealing with agents who are inexperienced or don’t adhere to the law.

Why was it important for Umega to become NAEA Propertymark accredited?

There is a general lack of transparency, a lack of trust and typically a very poor level of care for customers in the estate agency sector. Our approach is focused on treating home sellers and buyers with kindness, respect and dealing with people fairly and we’ve spent the last 15 years honing this focus in lettings. We now offer the same level of care in property sales with the same drive to improve and make the customer experience better tomorrow than it is today.
